Manitoba Hydro Dam A Pollution Buster

WINNIPEG -- - Manitoba Hydro is bragging that its new Wuskwatim dam will be a pollution buster.

Spokesman Glenn Schneider says the proposed northern hydro generating station would be one of the cleanest plants ever built in Canada.

Hydro's number crunchers are preparing to make the case for the 200-megawatt facility at public utilities and environmental hearings this spring and summer.

Environmentalists are demanding an analysis of how the project will affect greenhouse gas emissions related to global climate change.
