Alberta Heartland Project goes into service

EDMONTON, ALBERTA - - The Heartland Transmission Project team, AltaLink and EPCOR, recently announced that construction on the transmission line is complete and it is in operation.

Initially, residents and businesses near the line may hear a buzzing or crackling noise, which will dissipate to normal levels as operations settle in.

Also, because this is a new electricity transmission line in the area, people are reminded to be aware and cautious around electrical equipment.

The 66-km line from south Edmonton to the Heartland industrial area north of Edmonton provides a substantial upgrade to transmission infrastructure in Alberta. The project was identified in provincial legislation as Critical Transmission Infrastructure to Alberta's electrical system.
