Vestas gets 50MW Chinese order

INNER MONGOLIA, CHINA - Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has won an order for 25 turbines from Datang Renewable Power for a wind park in Inner Mongolia in China, Vestas said.

It was the second 50-megawatt turbine order from Datang to be announced by Vestas within five days.

Vestas did not disclose the value of the order for its V80-2.0 MW turbines.

"The turbines are designated for the Alatan wind farm near Tongliao in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and delivery is expected in the third quarter of 2010," Vestas Wind Systems A/S said in a statement.

Vestas said it would deliver 25 of its 2.0 MW turbines to Datang Renewable Power for the Dashuiboluo wind farm in Linxi, Inner Mongolia.

The new order includes transport, installation and commissioning and a Vestas control system that allows the wind farm to be controlled in much the same way as a conventional power plant, Vestas said.
