NDRC approves 12 coal plants in three months

BEIJING, CHINA - The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has given approval to 12 large coal-fired power projects in the past three months, according to announcements made by the NDRC on April 29.

In February, seven coal-fired power projects received approval from the NDRC. The Huaneng Yingkou Thermal Power Project will be built in the coastal industry base of Yingkou City in the Liaoning province with two 300-megawatt (MW) subcritical combined heat and power units.

The plant will also contain flue gas desulfurization and denitration devices and an associated heat-supply pipeline. The Huaneng Changchun No. 4 Thermal Power Project will be built with two 300-MW supercritical combined heat and power units with flue gas desulfurization and denitration devices and an associated heat supply pipeline in Changchun City in the Jilin province.

The Guodian Huozhou Power Project will be built with two 600-MW supercritical units together with flue gas desulfurization and denitration devices in Nanxingzhi Town of Huozhou City in the Shanxi Province. The Guodian Changzhi Thermal Power Project will be built with two 300-MW subcritical combined heat and power units with flue gas desulfurization device and an associated heat supply pipeline in Yangbao Village in the southwest of Changzhi City, Shanxi province.

The Jincheng Thermal Power Project will be built with two 300-MW subcritical combined heat and power units with a flue gas desulfurization device and an associated heat supply pipeline in Zezhou County, Shanxi province. The Shijiazhuang Liangcun Thermal Power Project will be built with two 300-MW subcritical combined heat and power units together with flue gas desulfurization and denitration devices and an associated heat supply pipeline at Nanxi Village in the Shijiazhuang Economic Development, Shanxi province.

The Dengfeng Power Plant Phase II Expansion Project will be built with one 600-MW supercritical unit with flue gas desulfurization and denitration devices in Daye Town of Dengfeng City in the Henan province.

In March, the Datang Nanjing Xiaguan Power Plant Relocation and Leqing Power Plant Phase II Expansion projects received approval from the NDRC. Datang Nanjing Xiaguan Project will be built with two 600-MW supercritical units together with flue gas desulfurization and denitration devices in the Qixia District of Nanjing City, Jiangsu province. The Leqing Power Plant Phase II Project will be built with two 660-MW supercritical units together with flue gas desulfurization and denitration devices in Wenzhou City, Zhejiang province.

In April, the Yongchang Power Plant Expansion, China Resources Nanshan Thermal Power Plant and Guodian Jianbi Power Plant projects received approval from the NDRC. The Yongchang Power Plant Expansion Project will be built with two 300-MW air-cooled combined heat and power units together with a flue gas desulfurization device and associated heat supply pipeline at Hexibao Town in Yongchang County, Gansu province. China Resources Nanshan Thermal Power Plant will be built with two 300-MW units together with flue gas desulfurization and denitration devices and an associated heat supply pipeline in Huangge Town in the Nansha District, Guangzhou City. Guodian Jianbi Power Plant will be furnished with one 1,000-MW ultra-supercritical unit in Jinabi Town, Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu province.
