WIRE Services commences new survey project
- WIRE Services, a division of Manitoba Hydro, is pleased to announce the commencement of a LiDAR survey project for Public Service Electric and Gas Co. in New Jersey.
Through the use of Aerial LiDAR data collection technology, WIRE Services will assess 132.7 miles of single and double circuit transmission lines in the utility’s service territory. The survey analysis will provide the utility with new plans and profiles in connection with its vintage circuit replacement program.
PSE&G, a subsidiary of Public Service Enterprise Group, is New Jersey’s oldest and largest publicly owned utility, serving nearly three quarters of the state’s population. With 1.6 million gas customers and 2 million electric customers, PSE&G also offers energy efficient programs and other utility-related products and services. It has received the ReliabilityOne Award for superior electric system reliability in the Mid-Atlantic region for the third consecutive year.
WIRE Services is a combined initiative between Manitoba Hydro (Canada’s 4th largest utility) and Calgary-based LiDAR Services International (LSI) providing Aerial LiDAR data collection and transmission line analysis services to the North American utility market since 2001.

WASHINGTON - Bipartisan legislation modernising US nuclear regulation and supporting the establishment of a licensing framework for next-generation advanced reactors has been signed by US President Donald Trump. The Nuclear Energy Innovation and Modernisation Act (NEIMA) became law on 14 January.
