IEEE Cables and Cable Insulation event coming to Toronto
- The IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society Chapter will be hosting a special event in Toronto on Cables and Cable Insulation.
Dr. Haridoss Sarma of Kriya Consulting will be speaking at the "Material Parameters and Performance Characteristics" on Thursday, March 25, 2004, at the University of Toronto.
Mr. Sarma will give a broad overview of the effect of material parameters on the electrical and extrusion performance of polymeric insulation.
He presently works as an independent consultant for the plastics and electrical insulation industries. Topics of his current activities include polymeric compounds for transmission cables, flexible insulation, moisture cure technology, reactive processing of polymers and extrusion coating applications. The other areas of his consulting activities are Scientific and Experimental Research Credit (SR&ED) programs and Intellectual Property Management.
Mr. Sarma's presentation will discuss polyethylene insulation technology with a short introduction to other polymer insulation.
He is a member of the Electrical Insulation and Power Engineering societies and Insulated Conductors Committee (ICC) of IEEE. He is also a member of Materials and Manufacturing Ontario, Canadian Plastics Industry Association, Wire Association International and Licensing Executives Society (USA and Canada).
"Material Parameters and Performance Characteristics" will be start at 6:30-8:00 PM with refreshments a half hour earlier. The event will be on the Second Floor of the Galbraith Building at the University of Toronto, 35 St. George St., Room GB 244.
