Overcurrent Response Analyzer for Installed Circuit Breakers

- KO InstrumentsÂ’ CBA-1000 is the first ever hand-held circuit analyzer to deliver a safe and valid test of the overcurrent response of ANY installed 1-pole 120-volt thermal/magnetic circuit breaker per NEC Article 240.1, FPN. The CBA-1000 identifies potential fire and safety hazards that may be present in electrical branch circuits and verifies the safe operation of 120 VAC 15 and 20 Amp circuit breakers.

The hand-held instrument plugs directly into any receptacle outlet and in less than one minute conducts a series of measurements such as available voltage, wiring correctness and voltage drop under load.

Most importantly, the CBA-1000 verifies if the breaker will safely respond to a brief short circuit safely placed on the branch circuit.

During this breaker performance test, the fault current is continuously monitored and the instrument will detect series faults such as improper wire size, bad splices and loose connections. All test data is recorded and can be viewed on the instrument display screen and downloaded to a PC with KO Instruments ReportNavigator software.

The CBA-1000 is targeted at electricians interested in generating additional revenue by offering breaker testing services.
