SCE&G president retiring

COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA - Nevelle Lorick, president of South Carolina Electric & Gas Co., is retiring, the utility's parent company, Scana Corp., said recently.

Lorick, president of the Midlands-based utility for five years, will step down May 15.

Kevin Marsh, senior vice president and chief financial officer, will replace Lorick as president.

"Not only has Neville been an incredible leader, he is also a personal friend and confidant, " said William Timmerman, Scana chief executive.

Lorick started with SCE&G in 1971 as a student assistant meter reader and worked his way up through various leadership positions.

Marsh, 50, joined SCE&G in 1984 in accounting. He will be replaced by Jimmy Addision, vice president of finance for Scana.

SCE&G provides electric service to 613,000 customers in the Midlands and Lowcountry. Scana provides natural gas service to 1.2 million customers in the Carolinas and Georgia.
