B.C. to build $6.6 billion dam
The 900megawatt W.A.C. Bennett Dam project near Hudsons Hope is expected to create 35,000 direct and indirect jobs by the time it is completed in 2020, The Vancouver Sun reported. It has yet to pass required environmental assessments and could face court challenges, as well, the newspaper said.
Campbell said in a release the dam will produce clean, renewable and affordable power and will ensure that British Columbia has reliable sources of clean electricity while contributing to our goal of electricity selfsufficiency.

Nuclear helps Belgium increase electricity exports in 2019
BELGIUM - Belgium's electricity transmission system operator, Elia, said that the major trends in 2019 were a steady increase in (mainly offshore) renewable power generation, better availability of nuclear-generating facilities and an increase in electricity exports.
In 2019, 48.8% of the power generated in Belgium came from nuclear plants. This was in line with the total for 2017 (50%) and significantly more than in 2018 (31.2%) when several reactors were unavailable.
