Iowa's governor says he'll look closely at a proposal in Utah, where state workers will soon drop to a four-day work week as a way to cut energy costs.

Chet Culver says the proposal — which has state workers working 10-hour shifts Monday through Thursday — is something that all states will have to consider at some point.

Culver says Utah's plan was a popular topic at the National Governor's Association meeting in Philadelphia.

Culver says Iowa's economy is in good shape, but that the state needs to look at a variety of ideas and consider them in the long-term.
