ABB St. Louis plant to reopen January 14
ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI - ABB will re-open its St. Louis facility on Thursday, January 14, one week after the tragic shooting events that took place recently.
The plant is currently functionally ready to resume operations, however it will remain closed until Thursday in order to give employees the opportunity to attend memorial services for our fallen colleagues.
ABBÂ’s philanthropic arm, ABB Foundation, has set up a fund to benefit families of the victims of the tragic events in St. Louis on January 7. Donations can be made payable to ABB Foundation and sent to the following address:

Checks should indicate they are for “ABB St. Louis Victims Fund.”
Donations made by ABB employees in the United States will be matched by ABB Foundation up to $100,000, but anyone is welcome to contribute to the fund.

Imported coal volumes up 17% during Apr-Oct as domestic supplies shrink
WASHINGTON - The receipt of imported coal by thermal power plants has shot up by 17.6 per cent during April-October. The coal import volumes refer to the power plants monitored by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), a power update report from CARE Ratings showed.
Imports escalated as domestic supplies by Coal India Ltd (CIL) and another state run producer- Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) dipped in the period. Rate of supplies by the two coal companies to the CEA monitored power stations stood at 80.4 per cent, indicating a shortfall of 19.6 per cent against the allocated quantity.
