Schneider awarded inverter contract

Schneider Electric's Renewable Energies Business has been awarded another 30 megawatts MW inverter contract with EDF EN Canada Inc — an EDF Energies Nouvelles Company.

This contract is for EDF EN Canada's new solar photovoltaic PV projects: St. Isidore and Elmsley, outside Ottawa, Ontario Canada.

Schneider Electric will provide PV Boxes, inverters and SCADA solutions. Upon completion Schneider Electric will have more than 90MW of utility-scale solutions installed in Ontario.

“This is the second major contract Schneider Electric has won with EDF EN Canada,” says Rudy Wodrich, Commercial Vice President, Schneider Electric, “Our teams worked extremely well together and we are confident our integrated PV solutions and highly adaptable system will be a great fit for these projects.”

The first time the companies worked together was at Arnprior, on the Western side of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, a project that required Schneider Electric to provide inverters and a monitoring system. Schneider ElectricÂ’s Renewable Energies Business had been involved in similar projects on a smaller scale in Europe, using its PV Box, but this was a first for Schneider Electric within the North American market.

Schneider ElectricÂ’s products convert and control raw electrical power from any central or distributed, renewable source into the power required by the electricity grid.
