ConEd says completes NYC electricity restoration
- NEW YORK, -- Utility company Consolidated Edison Inc. said it has restored electrical service to a network in Lower Manhattan that lost power because of last Tuesday's attacks on the World Trade Center.
While all networks affected by the attack are energized, ConEd said individual buildings may be without power until the company can gain access to them to turn on electrical connections.
ConEd said the restored area, the Cortlandt network, serves about 1,800 customers.
The company said it is urging customers whose power has been restored to minimize the use of electricity while work continues in the area.
