Mississauga utility reaches electrical safety milestone

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario - - Enersource is proud to announce that its employees have worked more than one million hours without a lost-time injury. Achieving this major milestone was a result of our Safety First philosophy at Enersource. This philosophy has evolved into an overwhelming commitment to safety throughout the corporation.

Workplace safety education involves everyone at Enersource and includes annual first aid, CPR and Automated External Defibrillator training and regularly scheduled safety meetings. The company is committed to offering forty hours of safety and technical training annually to its outside Operations group, as well as training and practical instruction on office ergonomics for the inside office staff.

“Over the past several years, Enersource has made it clear, that everyone -from the front line worker to an Executive is responsible for health and safety,” said Bernie Haines, Director of Health, Safety and Security at Enersource. “It is that commitment from everyone at Enersource that has enabled us to achieve this impressive milestone.”

Coronavirus puts electric carmakers on alert over lithium supplies

BEIJING - The global outbreak of coronavirus will accelerate efforts by western carmakers to localise supplies of lithium for electric car batteries, according to US producer Livent.
