Con Edison employees are working round the clock to monitor its system, which includes about 92,000 miles of underground cables, 33,000 miles of overhead lines, 80,000 transformers and more than 203,000 utility poles.
During the ongoing heat wave, Con Edison remains in regular communication with New York City's Office of Emergency Management and the Westchester Office of Emergency Services.
