Emerging Energies adds to Wisconsin grid

GLENMORE, WISCONSIN - CH Shirley Windfarm, which is to be located in Glenmore, Wisconsin, will be constructed by Emerging Energies of Wisconsin. The total investment for the project is expected to be approximately $50 million.

CH Shirley Windfarm will consist of 8 Nordex 2.5-megawatt (MW) wind turbines. The nameplate capacity upon completion will be 20 MW. These turbines operate at low to moderate wind speeds and are designed for cold temperatures. Nordex is expected to deliver the N100 models by the third quarter of 2010. These wind turbines will be installed by Nordex and are anticipated to be online by the fourth quarter of 2010.

Emerging Energies is a subsidiary of the CH Energy Group, which is the owner of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation, which has a controlling interest in CH Shirley Windfarm through one of its subsidiaries, the Central Hudson Enterprises.
