Second Texas plant to convert animal waste into fuel

DUBLIN, TEXAS - Environmental Power Corp. plans to break ground on another plant that turns cow manure into fuel, this one, ironically, called Rio Leche Estates.

The company said it will begin constructing a plant in Dublin, Texas, that turns cow manure from local dairies and other animal waste into renewable natural gas. The gas will enter the natural gas pipeline system, to be used to heat homes or fuel power plants.

The new plant will make enough natural gas to heat 11,000 homes, the company said. Environmental Power already operates a similar plant in Stephenville, Texas.
