Toronto Hydro a top 100 employer
TORONTO, ONTARIO - Toronto Hydro Corporation has been selected as one of Canada's Top 100 Employers for 2011, as chosen by Mediacorp Canada Inc.
"This honour is a reflection of the talent and energy of our team," said Anthony Haines, President and Chief Executive Officer, Toronto Hydro Corporation. "At Toronto Hydro, we take pride in fostering leadership and teamwork focusing on excellent customer service, and above all, providing our employees with a safe and productive workplace."
This year the competition saw 2,750 applicants from across Canada seeking recognition. Employers were reviewed on eight key areas: Physical Workplace Work Atmosphere & Social Health, Financial & Family Benefits Vacation & Time Off Employee Communications Performance Management Training & Skills Development and Community Involvement. Top picks are recognized as employers that lead their industries in attracting and retaining top talent.
Earlier this year, Toronto Hydro was also named one of "Canada's Greenest Employers" a list that celebrates exceptional employers that have been successful at integrating environmental values as part of their corporate culture. The utility was recognized for its many earth-friendly initiatives, including conservation, recycling, and tree planting programs.
