China to build 4,000-MW coal-fired plant
China Huadian signed a framework agreement in August 2007 to build the $2.2 billion power plant. In January 2008, the company signed a cooperation agreement with the municipal government of Chongqing and the government of Shaanxi province to build the project.
The project is scheduled to start construction this year and begin operation in the beginning of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan (2011-15). Upon completion, the project will not only help to meet the power demand in Shaanxi, but also transmit power to Chongqing through the northwestern power grid.

GLASGOW - A tidal power project in waters off the north coast of Scotland sent more than 13.8 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity to the grid last year, according to an operational update issued Monday. This figure – a record – almost doubled the previous high of 7.4 GWh in 2018.
In total, the MeyGen tidal stream array has now exported more than 25.5 GWh of electricity to the grid since the start of 2017, according to owners Simec Atlantis Energy. Phase 1A of the project is made up of four 1.5 megawatt (MW) turbines.
