PG&E to purchase power from Oregon wind farm
The Rattlesnake Road Wind Power Project in Gilliam County, Ore., is currently under construction and is expected to begin operation in the first quarter of 2009. With this agreement, PG&E now has more than 1,213 MW of renewable wind energy under contract or delivered.
"Clean wind power is an integral part of our diverse renewable energy portfolio, which includes hydroelectric, geothermal, solar, wave and biomass resources," says Fong Wan, vice president of energy procurement for PG&E.

Pandemic causes drop in electricity demand across the province: Manitoba Hydro
WINNIPEG - The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a drop in the electricity demand across the province, according to Manitoba Hydro.
On Tuesday, Manitoba Hydro said it has tracked overall electrical use, which includes houses, farms and businesses both large and small.
Hydro said it has seen about a six per cent reduction in the daily peak electricity demand, adding this is due to the many businesses and downtown offices which are temporarily closed.
