article image

Geomagnetic Induced Current Sensor (GIC Sensor) provides sensing, measurement, and communication of DC ground currents in harsh utility environments. The split-core, Hall effect design enables easy installation, adjustable range, pure and quasi-DC detection up to 3 Hz, and a 4-20 mA output, supported by brochures, white papers, and installation resources.

Product Overview

• Split-core installation • Hall effect sensing • Adjustable range, pure/quasi-DC up to 3 Hz • 4-20 mA output with bracket kits • Detects and communicates DC ground currents • Resources include brochure, white papers, webcast, and installation video for harsh utility environments and transformers monitoring

Geomagnetic Induced Current Sensor measures, senses, and communicates DC ground currents in harsh utility environments. Split-core design simplifies installation. Hall effect technology ensures linear response and adjustable range. Detects pure and quasi-DC up to 3 Hz. Provides 4-20 mA output and mounting bracket options to support transformer monitoring and protection.

Target Market

Ideal for substation engineers, protection engineers, and asset managers in transmission and distribution, traditional and renewable power generation, data centers, industrials, and mining. Used during geomagnetic disturbance events and routine monitoring to assess transformer exposure, support condition-based decisions, and aid reporting requirements.
