The New York Independent System Operator in September will offer two courses about the stateÂ’s wholesale electricity markets and power systems.

NYISO — the nonprofit that operates the state’s electric grid — will offer a one-day overview course on September 10. That course will provide a general review of all aspects of the wholesale electricity markets in New York, including sessions on power system operations, market pricing and power contracting.

A four-day course from September 22 through September 25 will educate active or prospective participants about New YorkÂ’s wholesale electricity markets.

Training courses like those offered by the Electricity Forum on such subjects as arc flash safety (see http://www.electricityforum.com/forums/index.htm) have proven to be valuable tools for electrical engineers and electricians looking to upgrade their skills.

Both NYISO courses will be held in the Berle Conference Center at NYISOÂ’s corporate offices at 10 Krey Boulevard in Rensselaer.

Attendees at both events will receive instruction in the purchase and sale of energy, capacity and related market products.

But what if we expand clean electricity production carried by…
