Bullfrog Power and Vaughan Mills announced a partnership to provide Vaughan Mills with 100 per cent green and carbon-free electricity. The shopping centre's green power purchase is equivalent to 50 per cent of the usage of its common areas.

To provide the green electricity, Bullfrog will inject EcoLogo-certified green power onto the Ontario electricity grid to match the amount of power used in the common areas of the shopping centre. Bullfrog's power comes from clean, emissions-free wind and low-impact hydro sources.

"We are pleased Vaughan Mills is now a part of our green power partnership," said Tom Heintzman, president, Bullfrog Power. "The decision to choose clean, green power helps support the development of new renewable generation in Ontario, which is good for our communities and future generations."

"At Vaughan Mills, we are committed to reducing our ecological footprint and we know that our tenants and shoppers also support these responsible business practices," said Jamie MacLean, Marketing Director, Vaughan Mills.

"Choosing green power allows us to continue our commitment to sustainability."

Ivanhoe Cambridge, which owns Vaughan Mills, is one of the largest commercial purchasers of green power in Ontario. Vaughan Mills marks the 14th shopping centre included in Ivanhoe Cambridge's green power agreement with Bullfrog. In addition to Vaughan Mills and 13 other mall properties, Ivanhoe Cambridge purchases green electricity to match the usage for 100 per cent of its Toronto Corporate Office.
