Alberta Heartland Project goes into service
Initially, residents and businesses near the line may hear a buzzing or crackling noise, which will dissipate to normal levels as operations settle in.
Also, because this is a new electricity transmission line in the area, people are reminded to be aware and cautious around electrical equipment.
The 66-km line from south Edmonton to the Heartland industrial area north of Edmonton provides a substantial upgrade to transmission infrastructure in Alberta. The project was identified in provincial legislation as Critical Transmission Infrastructure to Alberta's electrical system.
