The letter of intent signed by NSPI and RESL will be followed by a power purchase agreement. Discussions will focus on timing, construction, grid interconnection and other considerations related to a major wind power development.

RESL was selected following a Request for Proposals from Nova Scotia Power earlier in 2002. NSPI launched the Green Power program this Fall with a pair of wind turbines delivering 1.2 megawatts of electricity.
The province's energy strategy, released in December 2001, encourages a significant wind power commitment in Nova Scotia.
