DTE's Fermi 2 plant retains Clean Corporate Citizen status
Detroit-based DTE, Michigan's largest utility, said its Fermi 2 facility located in Newport has had the Corporate Citizen designation since September 2000.
To become eligible for the rating, a power plant has to adopt specific environmental management systems, maintain active pollution prevention initiatives and have a consistent record of compliance with MDEQ.
DTE's Detroit Edison unit, which operates Fermi 2, has 2.2 million electric customers in Southeast Michigan.
