CALGARY, Alberta - A judge on Thursday rejected a bid by Enron Corp.'s Canadian unit for a court order to stop a flood of contract cancellations the energy trading firm has said would push it into insolvency.
Enron Canada had hoped to use a month-long stay in gas and power contract terminations to restructure its finances and disassociate itself from its U.S. parent, which last weekend made the largest Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in U.S. history.
