Toronto Hydro supports the government's Ontario power report

The government's 'Electricity Conservation and Supply Task Force Report' will begin to put Ontario's electricity industry on a solid foundation, according to a Toronto Hydro press release.

"We are pleased with the report findings and embrace the Action Plan's recommendations to give consumers safe, reliable power at affordable and stable prices," says Mr. Jim Black, President and Chief Executive Officer of Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited.

In addition, Mr. Black welcomes the Task Force's recommendations on energy conservation and demand side management.

"Clearly, local electricity distribution companies such as Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited have an important role to play in promoting and facilitating conservation and demand side management," he said. "We intend to move forward in these areas by designing programs that enable our customers to cut energy consumption and save money."

Consumer education is another critical feature of the Task Force plan that will be a focus for Toronto Hydro.
