Sept. 11 -- It is likely that Russian nuclear energy companies will help to modernize the nuclear energy industry in Hungary. According to the press office of the Russian government, this was announced by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov after visiting Budapest. He said that Russian specialists may be invited to Hungary by the end of the year. If Russian companies are involved in the modernization process the Russian government will be ready to provide any necessary assistance, the premier said.

'Hungary has already tried using foreign expertise to modernize its nuclear power station Paks and now it is forced to rectify this mistake by using Russian technology,' Mr Kasyanov said. He mentioned the accident which took place at this nuclear power station in April of this year.

The Russian premier also said there is a good chance that Russian companies will take part in repairing and constructing new underground lines on the Budapest underground.
