A power outage affected a large part of Scarborough the evening of August 20, due to transformer poll problems.

Around midnight, some traffic lights and many homes in the area experienced a blackout that spread west from Markham Rd. to Victoria Park Ave., and south from Ellesmere Rd. to Lake Ontario.

While the outage lasted around four hours, Toronto Hydro reported the problem concerned Hydro One and that crews were on scene, working to restore power.
