Advanced Field-Testing Technologies for Oil Filled Transformers

The life extension of large power transformers is becoming more and more critical due to the replacement costs, along with extensive lead times for replacements. Unexpected failure can be very costly, not only in terms of replacement but also in unplanned downtime, or in extreme cases, significant damage to other assets affected by catastrophic failure. In this session, we will explore some of the latest testing technologies to better assess the health of transformers, along with associated apparatuses such as on-load tap changers and bushings, which account for a large percentage of failures.
