Toronto Hydro truck just misses building

TORONTO, ONTARIO - A Toronto Hydro worker escaped with minor injuries after his large cable truck climbed a curb before striking a tree, narrowly missing an apartment building in an uptown neighbourhood.

The man was trying to turn onto Bathurst St. from Briar Hill Ave. at about 10 a.m. when he lost control, said Tanya Bruckmueller, a spokesperson for Toronto Hydro.

Bruckmueller would not discuss the cause of the crash, saying she must wait for the results of the investigation before she can release more details.

The hydro worker suffered minor injuries but was alert and walking around when emergency officials arrived, police said.

"Everyone appears to be okay," said Bruckmueller.
