AEP offers 'green' power option in West Virginia
Appalachian Power and Wheeling Power say residential customers can buy 100-kilowatt-hour blocks of electricity generated by wind, hydroelectric dams, solar energy and biomass for $1.50 per block. A typical residential customer uses about 1,000 kilowatts monthly, or the equivalent of 10 blocks.

MIAMI - Parts of Florida could be without electricity for more than a week, as damage from Hurricane Irma will require a complete rebuild of portions of the electricity grid, utility executives said on Monday.
