LONDON - Nuclear power group British Energy Plc, which reported narrower first half losses helped by a first contribution from its Canada business, said on Wednesday it was considering further investments in the country.

"We are looking at a number of possible business investments, largely in Canada, which would be complementary to Bruce," Executive Chairman Robin Jeffrey told reporters in a conference call.

The company's 80 percent interest in Bruce Power in Canada contributed 40 million pounds ($58.3 million) of profit in the first half, which helped to reduce group losses to 17 million from 56 million in the same period of last year.
