The 20 state lawmakers, all Democrats, say too much emphasis on coal and nuclear energy would reduce funding for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
The Colorado legislators said they are concerned about language in the Senate version that would allow nuclear and coal technologies to have unlimited funding.
They say the House version contains key protections and safeguards along with strong criteria to ensure that technology diversity is maintained.
