Électrium offers family fun over the holidays

The Électrium, Hydro-Québec's electricity interpretation centre, has an energizing lineup of activities planned for the holiday season.

This year theyhave added face painting, a quiz and door prizes to the regular guided tour of the centre. Fun and surprises are guaranteed, free-of-charge!

During your visit, you'll discover electricity's many aspects: its essential role in the human body, the origin of lightning, the secrets of electric eels, and how the earth's magnetic field works. Our many models and exhibits will inform you, entertain you, blow you away and even make your hair stand on end!

Film screenings are also on the program. For our younger guests, Follow the Line shows how electricity gets from the power station to your home. For everyone else, Hydropower Projects: Spotlight on Québec Know-how illustrates the main steps involved in the construction of hydroelectric power stations.

The Électrium is located in Sainte-Julie, near Exit 128 off Highway 30, in the Montérégie region.

Opening hours for the holiday period are as follows:

December 21, 22 and 23 - from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

December 27, 28, 29 and 30 - from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

January 3, 4 and 5 - from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

BC Hydro completes major milestone on Site C transmission line work

VANCOUVER - The second and final 500 kilovolt, 75 kilometre transmission line on the Site C project has been completed and energized.
