FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Indiana Michigan Power, an operating unit of American Electric Power, is excited to announce that customers now have the option to be notified by text message or email when their home or business is affected by a power outage.

Customers enrolled in I&M ON THE GO – Mobile Alerts will receive a notification when an outage has been reported in their area and will continue to get immediate updates as I&M crews determine the outage cause and predict when power is expected to be restored.

“We live in an era where information is readily available at our fingertips information related to the electricity that powers our homes and businesses is no exception. At Indiana Michigan Power, we are committed to being your energy partner. Providing you with a more convenient method of receiving account information is just one way we are raising the bar to provide superior customer service,” said Paul Chodak III, I&M’s president and chief operating officer.

By visiting www.IndianaMichiganPower.com and logging into their account, customers can enroll in power outage alerts and modify their specific notification preferences.
