KEMA was selected by Pennsylvania-based gas and electric utility UGI Utilities, Inc. (UGI) to manage the implementation of the Field Level Asset Management Environment (FLAME) project for the Gas Division.

KEMA will serve as the project System Integrator, providing critical project management services to augment and support UGI resources.

Initiated in December 2003, the four-year FLAME implementation project is a mission-critical initiative to extend the capabilities of the GE Network Services (GENS) Smallworld Geographic Information System (GIS) installed by UGI in 1998.

KEMA will assist UGI with streamlining business processes, leveraging technology tools, preparing the work force, migrating data, and enhancing integration technology infrastructure to enable the UGI Gas Division to optimize operations and enhance safety and customer satisfaction.

As the System Integrator, KEMA will utilize its proven iAdvantage systems implementation and integration methodology for UGI's FLAME project. KEMA implementation services for the project include:

· Providing project planning and project management office support

· Streamlining business processes

· Defining detailed application functional requirements · Developing/refining conceptual, logical and physical database designs · Developing interface control documents

· Providing hardware/software installation and system administration support

· Writing and issuing data conversion/migration assistance and management

· Developing a phased system design test plan · Testing and acceptance of the solution

The System Integrator will be providing procurement assistance, defining requirements, identifying potential suppliers and evaluating vendors' offering and proposals."
