MidNet, Inc. and ENMAX Envision Inc. have signed an agreement to establish a Network Security Assurance Center at Envision's data centre in Calgary, Alberta.

The Network Security Assurance Center will provide a venue for corporations, government, industry associations, and standards bodies to test the capabilities of The Middle Network(TM), to ensure the privacy of network connections and data security, and to assure the protection of subscribers from data theft and vandalism. The Middle Nework was created and is owned by MidNet. The system is a commercial alternative to the Internet. It provides high-speed, high-capacity private digital connectivity to companies and people who wish to create, manage and distribute valuable intellectual properties.

Subscribers to The Middle Network(TM) will be able to connect through local loops provisioned by ENMAX Envision.

ENMAX Envision Inc is a wholly owned subsidiary of ENMAX Energy Corporation which delivers high-speed data connections and Internet services to downtown Calgary office buildings. ENMAX Envision owns and operates more than 156 route miles of fibre optic network in Calgary.

The Center will be operational in late September 2004.
