Solar Power International 2011 brings the premier B2B solar energy trade show to Dallas, Texas, featuring renewable energy leaders, photovoltaics innovations, SEIA and SEPA collaboration, and record growth in the U.S. clean energy market.

What's Behind the News

A premier U.S. B2B solar trade show in Dallas, hosted by SEIA and SEPA, showcasing renewable energy growth.

  • Largest North American B2B solar conference and trade show
  • 2011 host city: Dallas, Texas, the nation's energy hub
  • Organized by SETS, a SEIA and SEPA collaboration

The Board of Managers of Solar Energy Trade Shows, LLC (SETS) announced that the Solar Power International (SPI) 2011 conference and trade show will take place in Dallas, Texas, at the Dallas Convention Center on October 17-21.

SPI is the largest B2B conference and trade show in North America for the solar energy industry, while international developments such as Tokyo Electric Power's U.S. solar project underscore its momentum, and it was recently recognized by Tradeshow Week as one of the Top 50 fastest growing trade shows in the country. The 2009 conference had more than 25,000 attendees, reflecting interest from programs like the Canadian SPP across the region that year.

"We are excited to take Solar Power International 2011 to Dallas," said Brian Tully, SETS Executive Director. "Texas is the energy hub in this country and an emerging market for solar adoption in Texas overall. SPI and the Lone Star State are a perfect fit for one another. We look forward to highlighting this important market and building upon SPI's previous successes in being the premier solar event in the United States."

Solar Power International has posted record growth for the last 5 years, mirroring the exponential growth of the U.S. solar market, where utilities like Georgia Power have earned national recognition in recent years.

Formed in October 2009, SETS is a collaboration between the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA), the national trade groups that have co-hosted this event since 2004.
