Couple gets huge energy bills for vacant house
The bill was for a vacant rental house that Pat and Jim Graybill of Manchester have been rebuilding. It was an estimated bill from Alliant Energy, which means the utility had not checked the meter reading on the home.
Alliant Energy spokesman Ryan Stensland said that the Graybill's electric meter "rolled over" past zero and the company's computer system did not recognize it.
Stensland says the couple will receive a corrected bill.

FREDERICTION - NB Power and Hydro-Quebec have signed three deals that will see Quebec sell more electricity to New Brunswick and provide help with the refurbishment of the Mactaquac hydroelectric generating station.
