Metso supplies power boiler for green power production
Start-up of the power plant is scheduled for the fall of 2010.The value of the order is over 60 million euros and it will be included in Metso Paper's Q3 orders received.
Metso Power will supply for the power plant a power boiler (124 MWth) which will utilize bubbling fluidized bed technology and will burn biomass, like bark and forest residues to produce electricity to the national grid and steam for the paper mill.
As a part of this delivery Metso will also supply the external fuel handling for the boiler, flue gas cleaning system and plant's automation and information management system.
The Facture plant investment is the largest project in France's national green energy program.
Dalkia is Europe's leading provider of energy management services, and its renewable energy solutions burn one million tons of biomass per year. With nearly 55,000 employees in 38 countries, Dalkia has generated net sales of 7.9 billion euros in 2007.

Potent greenhouse gas declines in the US, confirming success of control efforts
WASHINGTON - A new NOAA analysis shows U.S. emissions of the super-potent greenhouse gas sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) have declined between 2007-2018, likely due to successful mitigation efforts by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the electric power industry.
At the same time, significant disparities that existed previously between NOAA’s estimates, which are based on atmospheric measurements, and EPA’s estimates, which are based on a combination of reported emissions and industrial activity, have narrowed following the establishment of the EPA's Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program. The findings, published in the journal Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics, also suggest how additional emissions reductions might be…
