Allegheny Power moves forward with Transmission HQ
Allegheny has selected Omni Associates of Fairmont as the architectural and engineering firm for the new building.
Allegheny also purchased a 9.5-acre parcel of land in the I-79 High Technology Park from the West Virginia High Technology Consortium Foundation.
Allegheny expects to start construction of an environmentally friendly building in 2009, with completion expected in mid-2011. Approximately 150 new positions will be brought to the region with the new facility, which will serve as the center for AlleghenyÂ’s multi-state transmission functions.

Electricity prices spike in Alberta
EDMONTON - Albertans might notice they are paying more when the next electricity bill comes in.
According to the consumer price index, Alberta saw its largest monthly increase since July 2015 as the price of electricity in Alberta rose 25 per cent.
