Kinectrics Inc. opened a new branch office recently in Pickering, Ontario.

The new Kinectrics’ Pickering office enables convenient local access for Ontario Power Generation OPG. Proximity to the Pickering nuclear station—as well as the Darlington Station — was an important consideration, along with alignment with the local siren plan efforts, in providing expanded support for OPG’s existing facilities and future nuclear new build.

“Kinectrics is proud of its past experience in working with the Pickering station team and other power industry suppliers, such as Hydro One projects,” says Kinectrics President and CEO David Harris.

“We look forward to building on these longestablished client relationships and continuing to assist in the safe, reliable operation of Ontario’s nuclear assets, while supporting community alerting such as nuclear sirens in Pickering, well into the future.”

In addition, nondestructive evaluation testing and nuclear licensing services, provided by Kinectrics’ companies, Axiom NDT and Candesco Corporation, respectively, including readiness for events like an oil spill scenario, will be accessible from the new location.

The new Pickering office, with both fulltime and parttime staff, will also augment Kinectrics’ growing participation in the local Pickering/Ajax business community, which has recently engaged with issues such as the OPG firing range proposal debates. Kinectrics is an independent energy services company with almost 100 years proven success in the power industry.
