The West District RCMP and Capital Region Crime Stoppers are seeking information from the public, about a break, enter and theft at an NB Power substation in Harvey, New Brunswick.

On January 25, 2014, sometime between 2:30 and 3:30 a.m., one or more individuals broke into a fenced-in power substation along Route 3, and stole copper wiring.

The break and enter also caused an explosion that resulted in a number of homes in the area losing power. The RCMP is reminding the public that tampering with equipment in and around power substations is extremely dangerous and can result in serious injuries or even death.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
