The Demand Response and Smart Grid Coalition DRSG announced the addition of six new members. The new members are Intel, Ingersoll Rand, Siemens, Schneider Electric, UISOL, and Constellation NewEnergy.
DRSG is the trade association for companies that provide products and services in the areas of demand response and smart grid technologies and practices. DRSG works to educate and provide information to policymakers, utilities, consumers, and other key stakeholders to support efforts aimed at modernizing the electricity system and introducing smart grid practices like demand response.
"DRSG is excited to welcome these new members," said Dan Delurey, President of DRSG. "With today's announcement, DRSG becomes even better positioned to be the voice of the smart grid industry, as highlighted at the PLMA conference today."
Delurey added, "The question is no longer whether to do demand response and implement a smart grid. It is now a question of making it happen, with forums like the National Town Meeting supporting collaboration. The companies joining today, as well as the other DRSG members, are all active players in making the smart grid a reality — not in the future, but today."
