Canada EV Charging Report 2026 finds public network growth continuing, with DC fast charging outpacing Level 2. Ontario networks, including Ivy and new entrants, expanded footprints, reflecting steady progress amid a transitioning market.

Canada's public EV charging infrastructure continued to scale in the latest annual assessment, which tallied 39,654 public charging ports across 14,743 locations as of March 25, 2026. That represents 17.4 percent year-over-year growth, with the report describing a market moving from rapid expansion to steady progress as networks and users adjust to shifting conditions.

DC fast charging led the buildout, rising 33.6 percent over the prior year to 8,431 ports at 2,706 stations. Level 2 infrastructure also increased, up 13.5 percent to 31,172 ports at 12,353 stations. In Ontario, new sites and upgrades continued to arrive on key corridors and in communities, as reflected in recent ontario ev stations coverage across the province.

Ontario's largest province-wide network, Ivy, added 24 new DC fast charging ports in 2025 and is now wholly owned by Hydro One. The network reports that all ONroute locations offer NACS connectors or adapters. 11 sites feature dual chargers equipped with native CCS, NACS, and CHAdeMO connectors, and no additional charger deployments are planned in 2026.
